26th Prime Minister of Australia

Kevin was the 26th Prime Minister of Australia and served his first term from 2007-2010 before returning as Prime Minister in 2013 to lead the Australian Labor Party to the Federal Election. He also served as Australia's Minister for Foreign Affairs (2010-2012).

Prior to his election as Prime Minister, Kevin was the 19th Leader of the Australian Labor Party, a role he assumed in 2006. He had previously been appointed Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs in 2001, with responsibility for international security added in 2003, and trade in 2005.

He was federal member for Griffith (Queensland), and first entered Parliament in 1998.
